Residential and acreage lawn irrigation across Acton, Prospect Park, and the surrounding Halton Hills concessions — Hydrawise smart systems, escarpment-clay-aware design, drip retrofits, spring openings from $90 and fall winterization on a scheduled regional route.
Acton sits at the edge of the Niagara Escarpment in Halton Hills, with a soil profile dominated by some of the heaviest clay in southern Ontario. The mix of older subdivision lots near downtown, newer builds toward Prospect Park, and surrounding rural acreage means there's no single "Acton irrigation system" — every property needs its own design. What every Acton system does have in common: it has to be programmed for slow infiltration, or you'll watch the water run off the lawn into the storm drain.
PJL Land Services has active customers across Acton and runs the Halton Hills corridor on a scheduled regional route — typically batched with our Erin and Orangeville work. Same founder-led crew, same fixed-price written quotes, same 3-year warranty as every other city we cover.
Halton Hills clay accepts water at roughly half the rate of York Region sandy loam. A standard spray system dumping ½ inch of water in 20 minutes will produce 5+ minutes of pure runoff on an Acton lawn. Every install we do here uses pressure-regulated heads with matched-precipitation low-flow nozzles, plus cycle-and-soak programming that splits each watering into 2-3 short pulses with absorption breaks between. The lawn drinks instead of flooding.
Available April through October on our scheduled Halton Hills route. Book ahead — Acton route days fill up quickly mid-season.
Slow re-pressurization, leak inspection, zone-by-zone test, nozzle adjustment, Hydrawise programming for the season. Clay-tuned cycle programming included as standard.
From $90 (4 zones)Pro low-pressure compressor blow-out before the first hard frost. Acton's escarpment exposure means earlier freeze risk than the lake plain — book by mid-October.
From $90 (4 zones)Custom design tuned for Halton Hills clay. Hunter Hydrawise smart controller standard. 4-7 zones typical for Acton residential lots; 8+ for rural acreage.

From $575 / zoneWe publish pricing because trust starts before you call. Spring openings and fall closings are flat-rate services covering the 10-point system check and standard adjustments (alignment, arc, and rotation — head replacement is a separate repair line). Any repairs needed are flagged on-site, quoted separately, and only carried out after you approve them.

Every spring opening in Acton includes a full 10-point system check before we leave your property:
Backflow testing is a separately-licensed trade in Ontario. PJL does not service backflow assemblies but can refer you to a certified tester if yours needs annual recertification.
In Acton, the safe window for spring opening is typically the second week of April through mid-May, after the last hard frost. Opening too early risks freeze damage to backflow assemblies and exposed risers. We batch Acton onto regional route days — book a week or two ahead so we can group your visit with other Halton Hills work.
Our service call (mobilization + on-site assessment) is $95. Repair labour is billed at $95 from there. Common parts costs: sprinkler head replacement $68, pipe break repair from $120, full 3-valve manifold rebuild starting at $135 plus valves. If our AI-Smart-Intake diagnostic tool correctly predicts the fix, you get one hour of repair labour free on the diagnosed work — our only standing discount.
Acton sits on a scheduled weekly route, so same-day is not the default — we batch Acton repairs onto scheduled route days. For an active leak we'll do everything possible to get out within the same week. Book 1-2 weeks ahead for non-urgent repairs to ride a regular Halton Hills route.
Acton sits within the Town of Halton Hills and falls under the Region of Halton's outdoor water-use rules. Halton operates a stage-based system: voluntary odd/even-day watering by default, escalating to mandatory restrictions (odd-numbered addresses water on odd calendar days, even on even, 6 a.m.–9 a.m. or 6 p.m.–9 p.m.) when supply is constrained. We program controllers to mandatory-stage compliance by default so you stay onside no matter which stage Halton is in.
The Ontario frost line is approximately 1.2 metres (4 feet), but irrigation lines don't need to be buried that deep — they're drained and pressurized only during the warm months. PJL buries mainlines 8–12 inches deep and laterals 6–8 inches deep, which is standard for southern Ontario. Fall winterization (compressor blowout) is what protects them from freeze damage, not depth.
Yes — Hydrawise retrofits are one of our specialties. Patrick is Hunter-certified through Hunter University, and we install Hunter HPC-400 Hydrawise WiFi controllers on existing systems regularly. Pricing: $595 for 1–4 zones, $750 for 5–7 zones, $1,195 for 8–16 zones, all-in. Typical install takes under 90 minutes.
We service Downtown Acton, Prospect Park, Beardmore, Acton North and South, Crewson's Corners, Speyside, Limehouse, Ballinafad, the 22 and 25 Sideroad corridors, Trafalgar Road North, the Highway 7 corridor, the Acton–Erin line, and surrounding rural Halton Hills properties. Georgetown also rides the same route — get on the calendar a week or two ahead and we batch your visit with other Halton Hills work.
