Lawn sprinkler installation, smart Hydrawise systems, same-day repair, spring openings from $90 and fall winterization across every Aurora neighborhood — Aurora Heights, Aurora Highlands, Bayview Wellington, Hills of St Andrew and the surrounding estates.
Aurora sits on the same heavy York Region clay soil as the rest of north GTA — which means every standard "rule of thumb" you'll find in a generic blog post about sprinkler watering doesn't quite work here. Clay holds water, but accepts it slowly. Standard spray nozzles dump water faster than the soil can absorb. Without proper hydrozoning, cycle & soak programming and the right head selection, a brand-new sprinkler system in Aurora can produce a worse-looking lawn than no system at all.
That's where we come in. PJL Land Services has been installing and maintaining residential and commercial irrigation across Aurora since 2015. We're founder-led and Newmarket-based (not a franchise route), Hunter Hydrawise certified, fully licensed and insured. The contractor who quotes the work is the one overseeing the install.
Aurora's older neighborhoods (Aurora Heights, Town Park, Regency Acres) sit on mature trees and significant elevation changes. The newer subdivisions (Bayview Wellington, Aurora Grove, Bayview Northeast) have flatter lots but tighter property lines and HOA hardscaping rules. Different neighborhoods need different irrigation strategies — we tailor every quote to the property, never to a template.
Every service below is available 7 days a week from April through October across the city.

Backflow testing is a separately-licensed trade in Ontario. PJL does not service backflow assemblies but can refer you to a certified tester if yours needs annual recertification.
In Aurora, the safe window for spring opening is typically the second week of April through mid-May, after the last hard frost. Opening too early risks freeze damage to backflow assemblies and exposed risers. We start booking in late March and prioritize repeat customers first — book early to lock in your preferred week.
Our service call (mobilization + on-site assessment) is $95. Repair labour is billed at $95 from there. Common parts costs: sprinkler head replacement $68, pipe break repair from $120, full 3-valve manifold rebuild starting at $135 plus valves. If our AI-Smart-Intake diagnostic tool correctly predicts the fix, you get one hour of repair labour free on the diagnosed work — our only standing discount.
Yes — during the active irrigation season (mid-April to mid-October), we hold same-day repair slots for Aurora addresses booked before 11 AM, subject to availability. Aurora is a 10-minute drive from our Newmarket base, so most calls land within 2–4 hours of dispatch.
Aurora falls under York Region's Outdoor Water-Use Bylaw. From May 15 to September 30, lawn watering is permitted on odd-numbered calendar days for odd-numbered house addresses and even-numbered days for even addresses, between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. New sod and seed get a one-month grace period. Your sprinkler controller should be programmed to comply — we set this automatically during spring opening if you let us know your address parity.
The Ontario frost line is approximately 1.2 metres (4 feet) in the York Region, but irrigation lines don't need to be buried that deep — they're drained and pressurized only during the warm months. PJL buries mainlines 8–12 inches deep and laterals 6–8 inches deep, which is standard for the GTA. Fall winterization (compressor blowout) is what protects them from freeze damage, not depth.
