Zone runs but no spray, or all zones are dry. Usually a closed valve, controller fault, or pressure-supply problem.

Heads barely pop up, weak spray pattern. Often a pressure regulator, partially-closed gate valve, or split mainline.

Wet spots that won't dry

Soggy patch on the lawn, water surfacing between zone runs. Usually a buried leak — a split poly fitting or cracked irrigation pipe.

Zone runs but coverage gaps. Could be a head buried by thatch, broken rotor, blocked nozzle, or wrong-arc nozzle for the area.

If you used the AI intake we arrive already knowing the likely problem. If not, the first on-site hour is the diagnostic window. Either way, we walk the system with you before quoting.

Written quote on the spot before any extra work. Approve, modify, or pass — your call, no pressure. Most repairs are completed same-visit with parts on the truck.

Run the affected zones, walk you through it, document the work. 1-year parts & labour guarantee — if the same component fails inside 12 months, we replace at no charge.

From the field

Aurora, last Tuesday.

Customer called: a wet spot between zones 4 and 5 wouldn't dry. AI intake flagged it as a likely buried pipe split — one of the eight patterns we see every week.

Showed up, walked the system, traced the surfacing water. Cracked irrigation pipe at a tree-root crossing. Replaced the fitting with stainless clamps and a proper coupling, ran the zone, watched the spot stop swelling.

Sixty-five minutes door to door. Total: $215 with the service call — quoted in writing before the shovel went in.

We'd rather you save your money where you can. Two things you can usually DIY safely. Five things that'll cost you more if you try.

✓ DIY-safe (save the call-out fee)

  • Replace a broken spray head — unscrew the broken one, hand-tighten a matching new one from any irrigation supply ($5–$15 part). Don't over-tighten.
  • Reset your controller after a power loss — re-enter your programming, or in the Hydrawise app reconnect WiFi and restore your saved schedule.

⚠ Call us — DIY usually costs more

  • Wet-spot leak hunting — wrong-zone digging is how single-fitting repairs become full landscaping rebuilds.
  • Low pressure across zones — could be 6 different things; misdiagnosis costs $200+ in wrong parts before you find it.
  • Stuck or leaking valves — diaphragms tear easily and the wrong replacement creates new leaks.
  • Anything with the mainline — high-pressure water + buried irrigation pipe + amateur fittings = bigger leaks.
  • Pressure regulator failures — wrong PSI ruins every nozzle on the system over time.
